The idea for Family.Home.Renovation came about soon after we first purchased the #ramblewoodrenovation in June of 2014. However, six months after our purchase I became pregnant with our daughter and struggled being in and out of the hospital. When I finally started to feel a bit better, on our way home from a trip out of town, my son (Monkey) and I were in a head-on collision with a drunk driver.
By a miracle, Monkey and I sustained no vital damage to our bodies. But the recovery process was slow and it was months before I was back to normal. Then in June of 2015, we welcomed our beautiful daughter (Lovebug) into our family. It is our policy not take on any new large projects in the first year of a baby’s life. As most parents can attest, the first year of a kid’s life is already an overwhelming “project”.
So here we are. January of 2017. Lovebug is well over the one year mark and we are ready to take on a whole new project: Family.Home.Renovation. Family.Home.Renovation is a lifestyle blog birthed out of, you guessed it, our lifestyle. We are passionate about all things family, we like all things home, and we love renovation.
Our passion is family and as you might guess, they are a top priority in our life. We are committed to, and our deepest pleasure is investing time and energy in them. Here you will find be full of little glimpses into our life and adventures together.
A small word that encompasses so many things. Though we strive to create beautiful spaces, creating a home is so much more than decorating and styling a room. It’s also about building a life together. Here we will share bits and pieces of the way our home works in a less than perfect house.
Skip and I are natural “tinkerers”, always wanting to create something better (Emily) or improve something already in place (Skip). Renovation is a natural part of the way our minds think and we LOVE it! Living in a renovation house inspires us! As renovation is such a large portion of our life, so it will be on this blog. We will share with you our journey in purchasing a renovation home, offer advice on how you can purchase your own renovation house and of course all the projects that we have already done and will do in the future.
We want to inspire you to be passionate about family, home, and renovation. Demonstrating through our own life, how to create a family home in a less than perfect house. We do not pledge to be experts on everything or perfect in any way, but we do pledge to share our experiences in an honest way so you might be able to learn from them and/or be inspired by them. Thank you for being a reader. We love and appreciate every one of you
